Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Thanks folks, I used a sigma 10-20 it also helps that the swans are well used to people so you can get very close to them. This is one of the swans at bray harbor. If you sit on the path they can be quite nosey and if you don't make any sudden movements they will stay close. I just held the camera low and hoped for the best. It still took an hour for the bird to relax.

I went out with a composition in mind for the Contrasts Assignment - but the mural I wanted is no longer available. Anyway, still ended up with some interesting shots. I ended up going for this one, which may be an unusual approach to Contrasts - but it makes perfect sense to me :)

    Getting the Bonfire started.

Anyone any ideas as to how to improve this in photoshop? I just messed around with the lighting a bit, but feel more could be done to it despite the obvious noisiness. Any tips appreciated.

some kite surfers at Dunmoran Strand, Sligo, yesterday evening:

not knowing the first thing about the sport i'm not sure if these are ''good'' kitesurfing shots or not. i don't think the waves were big enough for them to be doing any fancy flips..

Did you use a graduated filter here or is the sky edited?

Its a HDR, the sky was wicked looking anyway (to the naked eye), imo it needed a bit of cajoling to get the dynamic range of it the same as the naked eye (well maybe a bit ott :p).
