Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Couldn't do the place justice, but Achill is gorgeous. Hadn't been there since I was a kid.

That Achill shot is class! Really nicely composed.

Cabaal just tweeted me that my post (963) was Post of the Day on boards. Never knew there was such a think 'till now. Thanks everyone, I'm flattered.

Must doodle some old pics again... :)

The concept that people just ' plonk' a photo here and that's it is totally wrong.

There are good photos that should be commended- and bad photos where advice to the phototaker would be of benefit.

There must be a way to organise this better?

I say thanks when I see a picture I like.
I never say thanks when the picture colours have been manipulated which sadly is all too often.

What do you mean exactly? The colours are manipulated in EVERY photograph. Sometimes the camera does the manipulation (digital), the film or the developer (the user). This kind of stuff has been discussed here a million times and it just shows a complete lack of understanding of the photographic process. Thinking about the difference between Ilford HP5 and Fuji Velvia might be a good place to start when discussing "manipulation"!

@ keps As for your point re critiques etc. This forum provides ample opportunity for that. That's why this thread was created. So that people can "dump" here and move on.

Thanks AR, I love the shade of green myself. I do agree the ladybird is a little intense. Presets what can you do? Mixing presets with blatant laziness is evident here. I stand at fault.

Yes- a tripod was needed here. The camera was on manual at f22 and I went 1 then 2 'timing' stops up and 1 then 2 stops down from 'recommended' - unfortunatley I transferred all my France photos to a stand alone hard drive last month - but did something wrong and lost them- having deleted them from my PC am unable to check the exact details of exposre etc. Camera D80 with tamrom 18-200 lens @ 18mm. Thankfully I have my favourite 6 or 7 on another photo site.
