Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Reoil - what's that shadow on the left of the pic?

Noticed that as well. Looks almost like a reflection in a window... or a slip of the mouse through a mask in PS...

Or something really close up and out of focus

@homerun homer looks like a reed was in the foreground of the shot

Trish is right, just a weed in the foreground.

:) Wasn't sure if it was a Photoshop thing or what. Never thought of that.

I’ve a very similar photo of this view which I posted before but I decided to upload this too because it includes my friend looking out the binocular yoke.

Can I ask probably a stupid question, how do you get the darkened effect in the corners, is it photoshop? (Nice pic by the way)

(just thought I'd answer)You mean the vignette? There are a number of ways you can do it.

You can create a layer above, fill with black. Put a mask on the layer, and on the mask draw a circular gradient from black to transparent (ensure 'black' is selected as foreground colour). You can obviously adjust the size and opacity / fill to your liking :)

Or you can draw a circle (select), select the inverse, fill with black, use refince edge to create the feather, and adjust opacity / fill to your liking. This gives you more creativity on the shape of the circle / oval for the vignette.

@ mask - it can also be done in Lightroom, using the 'vignettes' commands

You'd be more likely to get a "slapper" in the mouth :P

Mayhem - I thought you weren't allowed take pics there? I remember (sort of) all the signs about the place when I was there last

nice picture woddle, would it be better all in black and white? without the pink nike sign on the runner? for me, it takes away from the look on the athletes face or something and highlights the brand instead?? maybe thats exactly what you intended?

@RB is that Egypt shot from Karnak? I preferred there to Cairo when I went.

Here is one of the Sphinx I took many years ago on slide film. But between the scanning and pix.ie desaturating it looses most of the contrast.
