    hi,
A friend is working in retail clothing, she is owed roughly 800 to 1000 euro in back pay.

On top of that, her Employer is cutting all the wages by 10%
This brings her pay down to minimum wage, breaching her contract.

Is there any course of action she can take?
Will she get what she's owed?
Does anyone know where she can get info on this? She can no longer afford rent.

    I'd appreciate any replies, thanks.

    update:

She has been told to train another employee how to open and close the shop, and has heard that the owners are "letting someone go".

She has to cover for her manager in a couple of weeks, working 9 full days straight, one day off, then back in again for a full week.

Is it legal for her employer to get away with all this? :(

She should start keeping a diary with a view to suing for constructive dissmisal.

The Irish Labour Courts are set up in the Employees favour so it's not as scary as you might imagine to take and Employer to Court.
