Final count heading up to the break is 168 players faced the startter. With the break in 10 mins, doubt any more new starters.

Just saw a sick hand play out as I passed a table.

Don't know the preflop action, flop comes down KQ8, 2 spades. Unkown player bets, Paul Carr raises and first player insta-shoves. Paul snap calls and turns over KxQs. His opponent has KK. Cue running spades for Paul, who at least has the good grace to apologise to his vanquished opponent before he commences stacking.

30 mins left of the 200-400 blind level. 136 players remain from the starting field of 169.
Dave Curtis from the Eglington club has just been knock-out, while his fellow club mate, Pat o Callaghan just doubled through to 55k with a nice set of 2's.

Celebrity Killarney couple, Dave "the silver fox" O Mahoney and his wife, Margaret "Mystec Megs" were both all-in at the same time on seperate tables. (theres no truth in the rumour that they were anxious to go home for the Saturday nite "session").
Mysic Megs A-Q on a Queen high flop was no good against a set of 4's, while the silver fox's 5-6 on a 5-6-9 flop was plenty good enough to see him doubling up against a pair of pocket jacks and elimination for jamie Cunningham.

Chip leader in the room is Pat o Callaghen from galway with 68k. (Pat would like it to be known that he's actually from Cork but stuck in Galway!!)

Jimmy White has about 22k while Ken Doherty has about 31k.

Big hand played on table one. 3 players get it all-in on the flop, 2 pair versus nut flush draw versus straight flush draw. Flush hits on the turn and the straight flush hits on the river.

Came back at 1pm and already Domonic Collins has run his KK into AA and has exited the building.

And CL Pat o Callaghan has increased his lead to a stack of 220k.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭connie147

Fintan Gavin, short with 14k, just got it all-in pre flop. His opponent had AK, Fintan proudly turns over 9-10 and declares that his trap worked. And so it did when the board ran out 10 high and Fintans up to 30k.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,836 ✭✭✭connie147

Pat McFadden from Galway started day 2 on a lowly 10k. Within the 1st blind level, he's back up to 91k.
