Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I see that 7dayshop don't seem to be stocking Hoya Filters now. :(

Having just splashed out on the Nikon 70-200 VR f2.8 I don't want to stick just any piece of glass in front of it. Looking for a 77mm UV & CPL

So .... Where do people get their Hoya Filters from?

I'm also on the hunt for filters, 72mm. There seems to be a huge spread of prices across the brands. What, if any, are the differences in quality like?

Over 500 results for Hoya 77mm UV on eBay.

I have seen test results where even a B&W UV filter degraded image quality.

Are Hoya really that good? I've got a Hoya UV filter and I've not used it more than once because it degrades the quality of the image so much. I was really surprised how bad it was because I was always under the impression that Hoya were meant to be top quality.

All my filters are Hoya and I've bought most of them on eBay.

Hoya filters are top quality. Even top quality filters can degrade image quality.

I used to buy UV filters for all my lenses. No more. Why add a piece of additional glass? I use the lens caps to protect the lenses as well as a soft lens cloth and a blower brush.

    Regards,

    John

Having scratched and chipped filters in the past I have them on as insurance.

Looks like I will be trawling the bay.
