Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A few from Paris last week.
Don’t hesitate to copy, revise & repost.
No PS editing was done to any of the photos.
All edits (crops & light/color levels) made in Microsoft Picture Manager.
Let me know what you think.
    Thanks

I was only in Paris for a 13 hour layover on my way to Athens Greece.
I have yet to go through my photos from Greece; I will post another C&C from those in the next week or so.

very nice- i like the way you try and give a different aspect to traditional landmarks.

Some nice shots, 1 and 3 are excellent. Night ones need a bit of work

    Thanks Borderfox.
Can you elaborate on "a bit of work" for the night shots?
Any advice (or example) would be helpful.

I'd imagine he means they are over exposed for night photos. I looked at the exif data for one of your photos and it's f5 @ 8 secs. Most the night shots I take are 1-3 secs long @ f10-f18

Lower f-numbers/apertures give that starry effect to artificial lighting such as street lamps and let less light in which is a good thing if you are looking for a particular effect.

Thanks for breaking it down with numbers. That makes sense to me.
It’s too late to do anything about it now.. but at least I learned something for the future.
I still like the orange glow look. But would like to learn to do it the right way.
    Thanks for the advice!

Ther is no "right way" really, go for the look you like, having said that my personal preference would be to have some pure black in night shots, but they're your photos keep them the way you want.

If you have software that can easily alter the exposure, try reducing it by 2 or so stops, see what you think.

I can see you are trying to get a diferent slant on things with your day shots, and I know how hard it is to get something individual in a place like Paris but I can't say these really work for me, cutting the leg and hand off the statue and the bottom of the Eiffel just looks strange.

    I like strange.
It's ordinary that scares me. But there is a time & a place for it all I guess.

Like you said "I know how hard it is to get something individual in a place like Paris".
I still felt like I had to try.
Wish I had a couple of days there to play around; 13 hours goes by so fast.

I was on a bus trip to Barcelona one day, the guide told us "you need at least a month to get a feel for Barcelona" I thought why did you take my money........................'twas a holiday thing, glad I went, love to go again...........

Like no.1 the best, nice angle. I find the night shots have two much of the same tint.
