Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Torres v Blackburn.

Vintage, reminded me of Ian Wright for some reason.

Arshavin's second and fourth goal for me against Liverpool are fantastic goals.

A case of everything he touched turned to gold.

None of them a patch on Torres though.

Fantastic strike alright from Carew, Keepers positioning was all over the place though, so on that basis still Torres for me.

That commentator really placed the ultimate jinx on Villa.

'The game is settled,' 'the 3 points are safe,' 'they have opened an 8 point gap on Arsenal' and finally 'Aston Villa are heading for the Champions League.'

For anyone that doesn't remember it Stoke scored two late goals to equalize.

Zakis 2nd goal against Liverpool (back when he was still a practicing striker) was pretty nifty.

    Torres for me aswell

    Yep, Torres.

Torres for me out of the goals so far was just purely outstanding. Amazing goal, unstoppable.

That said, I am always much more impressed with team goals, with 6 or seven players showing real skill creating a perfect opportunity [ala Argentina in the WC].

van Persie's against Liverpool at the Emirates. And Glen Johnson's screamer.

and Diaby's versus Villa was pretty special, too

For me it has to be Torres' goal against blackburn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,825 ✭✭✭Mikeyt086

    Glen Johnson.

For a right-back to score THAT goal. Breathtaking.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,422 ✭✭✭Fenix

I reckon Ronaldos 2nd against west ham should get an honorable mention just for the sheer class Berbatov showed in seting it up...

Torres goal was a peach though !

Never mind Premier League. Gary Alexander has just scored a fantastic goal in the League One Play Off final.

It was a cracking goal alright, did you see his point blank miss that took the gloss off that one?

Id go with the Cole one

not as much technique as Torres, but what a strike. I was right behind it when he let fly and I was gobsmacked.

No mention of Bentley's volley against Arsenal? Amazing goal and technique. Glen Johnson's screamer was amazing too - better than Torres IMO. That West Ham goal was just brilliant and as a team goal it's the best of the season. For individual brilliance I'd have to go with Johnson's though.

Oh shoot, just watching match of the day there,

Van Persie's was the best individual goal of the season for me, absolutely oustanding. Reminds me of another dutch man.

Just watched the 10 goals of the season on match of the day there.

    Torres the best? My arse.

    1. Johnson
    2. Cole (BBC didnt show all of it though)
    3. Konchesky

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,604 ✭✭✭herbieflowers

Just thinking, there's been a lot of absolute crackers this season. Even in Europe - Ronaldo v Porto, Essien's screamer against Barca.

Yes, it was the goal of the seaon in my opinion.

Carlton Cole for West Ham (can't remember the opposition though).

It was the goal where the Hammers strung a rake of passes together and walked the ball into the net. Pure class.
