Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

recently bought a bike from someone i was working with in good faith, told me hed post the logbook several times and never did, went to the guards to see what i could do and if everything was in order, its not, the bike was last insured in 2003 and is scrapped, also got the name of the registered owner and it wasnt the guy id bought it off, was i ripped off and am now SOL or is there anything i can do to either A: get the bike back on the road (no damage to it) or B:is there anything i can do to get my money back off him (unlikely i know but if i could take him to small claims or somthing i would)

    cheers

...dunno about re-registering it, but as for the 'seller', your money is gone, I'm afraid.........you need to report it to the Gaurds - they'll advise under what offence (theft, fraud etc)

    I hope it wasn't a big amount, sorry !

Idea: if you can find another bike of the same model, in a breakers/etc, buy the frame w/logbook only, and swap all your parts over onto it, and dump the frame you have.

I did this with a Honda H100 years ago - bought a brand spanking new Honda frame, in a box, for GBP£ 30 from Dave Silver spares. Only took a (long) day to swap everything over. Then I took a hacksaw to the old frame, to stop someone doing............what they just did to you !

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”
