VW Golf MK4 Electric mirror

    Hi my car mirror was busted by some scum two weeks ago..
    It was not accidental, of that I'm almost sure..

    Anyway, the whole mirror housing came off on the passenger side and mirror cracked obviously, however the mirror housing is still intact luckily.
    I've managed to place it back on and it fitted ok and it is sturdy (Not even slightly loose)..

    What I don't understand is now my driver side's electric mirror is not working anymore, but the passenger side is working despite completely seperated from car from the incident.

    Does anyone know/come across this problem before that may be able to help?
    Or will I need to bring it to the VW dealer to have a look?
