And you will get a good result.

    I'm sticking with:

    Walcott
    Bishop
Longley or Monatague, haven't decided yet.
Cultural Context, glance over Theme or Issue
    Supernatural
    Deception (I know...)
    Macbeth
    Lady Macbeth
Banquo - fat chance he'll come up, but he's the one I know really well so it wont hurt to just re-read my notes.

Sigh, that English Paper Two was a dream. :( But, c'est la vie.

Deception and what else came up on the Macbeth Q on the leaked paper? was it Banquo or witches?

    Banquo was the character question.

I really want the Lady herself to come up on the backup paper. If she does I shall consider all this extra stress completely worth it!

What aspects of Banquo was it focused on?

Anyone have more specific details on the poetry questions? Same with Comparison?

    I'm going to look at;

    Kinship/Tyranny
    - What makes a good king? Focus on Duncan, with Macbeth/Malcolm.
    Supernatural
    - The witches mainly.

    Bishop, and Walcott.

Cultural context, theme and issue as well, perhaps.

do you really think duncans a good king? A king is supposed to be clever and not trust the untrustworthy - he trusted macdonwald & macbeth who both proved to be traitors, i think malcolm&Edward the confessor are the only true representations of good kings

wouldnt matter whioch way you discussed it as long as you backed it up - just my opinion :)

Not so sure about Malcolm, he has a few flaws as well.

Im convinced it will be Imagery and Lady Macbeth.

Which are the three total? GV+V, CC and which is the third again?

Theme and issue. It's the one I'm leaving out.

It's all about taking chances. Hope they'll pay off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,604 ✭✭✭xOxSinéadxOx

and is there an option of question within each or not?

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

I would DIE of happiness if Imagery came up.

Sinéad, you'll have a choice of 2 questions within Macbeth

I'd kind of say that since Duncan and Macbeth were cousins and that Banquo and he just beat the Nowrwegians who had sent an extra army when they thought the battle was won he was fully justified in backing Macbeth.
You would be a pretty suspicious person if you thought your own cousin would be out to kill you.

Although he isn't in involved in battle etc. but who knows how old he is, maybe he wouldn't be up to it etc

What you've done will most likely come up. Stop worrying and remember, the papers were written in isolation. They are likely to be very similar.

    Deep breaths now...

ok so i am doing some cramming, i know a bad idea but sure what can you do ha!!
well i was thinking bishop babe will still come up, what is others prediction??
gen vision i hope comes up or i am screwed:(

if it dosn't ask specificly to comment on the writers style,
    should you anyway?

i'm not great on features of style with any poet but i am good with themes

    E.G.
"Its easy to identify with the poetry of derek wallcott"
do you agree with this statement

4 paragraphs on theme of love and berevement with 4 poems. thats what i'd do.
    is this ok?

do i need to talk about language, imagery, metaphors, contrast etc

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,930 ✭✭✭✭challengemaster

Well, if you write anything like you type, you're pretty damn screwed before you even sit down tomorrow.

I know Bishop, Keats, Walcott, Gonna go over Montague I think..

Haven't a clue where to start though

If I learn 4 and the opposite 4 came up i'd have to be the most unluckiest person ever.

Principal was down chatting to us today, Said at least one or two will still come up tomorrow, Different people made the papers but they were giving the same guidelines.

I heard there dropping cultural context?

  • Registered Users Posts: 282 ✭✭manutd4life

i'm sticking to what i was studying before this happened.

    i'm going over:
    longly
    montague
    bishop
    theme or issue
    cultural context
i dont prepare macbeth questions for some reason so i just try to think of answers when i get the paper

Nobody knows anything. Don't believe what you read. No use trying to eliminate what may not be coming up so just revise for a while to cover yourself.
