    Monday, 25th May 2009: GameStop, Ireland’s leading specialist games retailer has announced that it is opening its 11th Dublin store on level one of Blanchardstown Shopping Centre next Friday, 29th May at 1pm.

    To celebrate the launch of GameStop’s new store in Blanchardstown, the retailer is giving its first 10 customers the opportunity to buy Nintendo Wii games consoles for only €99 euros – offering more than 50% off the normal retail price.

    Gamestop also has a number of recession busting special offers for its new Blanchardstown customers:

    * Pre-owned Nintendo DS Lites for only €79.99
    * Pre-owned Sony PSPs for only €79.99
    * Nintendo DSi handheld consoles for just €99 when customers trade in a DS Lite and one game.
    * Movies of your choice for €2 when you trade-in another
    * Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii Games for just €5 when you trade-in one of your old games.

    I'd say GAME are fuming. Gamestop have opened up about 3 doors down from them!

    Fair play to Gamestop though. In tough times they've been extra aggressive against Xtra-Vision & Game. They're killing high street brands in the states, and are likely to do it here.

    Ok, to be honest, whenever I have went into there shop on henry street the exact same 360 titles have been a lot cheaper in either HMV or Game. I don't think they are that aggressive in a price war on many titles and I've never bought anything out of there because it's cheaper just a minute walk away.

    Gamestop are usually the worst game shop, complete rip off most of the time.
