For 30 signatures anyone can get on the ballot.

The FG chick one is good. She has all the qualities needed in a county councillor. :D

    :) Crikey! A cute/hot politician ???? That's a first!

Is it a good idea for the FG site to have her phone number public ? ;)

Eoin Ryan has a stack of posters up where he is holding a placard with various slogans on them. One is "My focus in Europe in jobs". A wag on the quays has put "Starting with my own" on one. Given that he has his 15 year old daughter out campaigning- its probably accurate......

There all over the Docklands at the moment and probably the most annoying poster I have ever seen.

He is in all probability fighting for his political career- being a Fianna Fail candidate is a severe handicap.......

I would imagine she would have a private phone as well as the public phone

Wow that's mad I went to her 21st, was going out with a friend of hers at the time. You think she would have taken down her facebook/bebo sites tho ffs. Wasnt that the first thing that Dev did ?

I heard a couple of them on Ray D'Arcy's show a few weeks ago, one in particular about a guy I think he might be in Kildare, and the slogan on the posters is...

    'Put Willy in'

Sadly her policies are morally repugnant.

Does anybody notice how hard it is to read the words "Fianna Fáil" on the Fianna Fáil election posters!

Just out of curiousity- are there an abnormally large number of female candidates (of every political persuasion) running this time round? Perhaps they're just more errrr- pleasing on the eye?

None running in my county council area at all. 3 in the Euro elections is about it for me.

I don't even know whos running in mine- (SDCC), and to be honest- have been salivating at the thought of giving canvassers a piece of my mind- other than the circulars from the MEP candidates- nada thus far. I think Mary Lou gets depressed when she sees me- I gave her a grilling on Sinn Fein's economic policys in the last general election up in Superquinn Lucan. Funnily enough- I think I got her several votes- she came across as incredibly likeable on a personal level (policies aside).

That picture was taken in the Dail Bar!

The one on the left runs for FF, the one on the right is a Labour activist. I tell ye they're all in bed with each other no matter what they say.:D:D

She is a total cracker though. Makes me wish I lived in Kildare so I could vote for her :)

Seriously though, her election photo is the most easy on the eye I think I've ever seen. Good luck to her.

where is that fine gael one running? She can have my vote if shes anywhere close to here - strictly for her policies like :D

It is a pity to see her apologising for the picture. She should have said it shows she is human and has a good social life and if anyone was offended by it tough. Be great to see politicians getting a bit braver about that kind of thing. Porn stars can run for office in other countries.

There are a lot of young women up for election. And most of them are very naive and dont know a lot about politics. Like the Sinn Fein candidate on tonight, talking about property tax. I'm not sure that she knew whether a property tax existed or not, seemed like it was just one of the buzz words that she was told to use in the answer for question 5.
