Recommend a good set of toe clips/straps

    Hi all,

I'm currently using toe clips on my fixed gear Bowery. I didn't think I was too hard on them but the Wellgo toeclips that come with the Bowery have fallen apart in only a few months. I use the bike every day so ideally I'm looking for something as reliable and long lasting as possible. If that means spending a few extra quid that is fine.

I know SPD pedals would be a good option but I don't always want to have to change my shoes after the cycle hence I think toe clips are a good option.

So would you have any recommendations?

    Thanks.

Whatever metal clips you can find - Soma, MKS, Christophe - and leather straps. Plastic toe clips never seem to last very long, and plastic straps just look a bit crap.

Cycleways had MKS clips the last time I was in there although it was a couple of months ago.

    Thanks Rottenhat,

I'll do a bit of googling and see if I can get any of those steel toeclips with leather straps online. If not I'll check out Cycleways.

    Cheers,

€15 seems a touch on the high side for a pair of used toe clips.

They is unused, and in perfect condition. Pretty sure they were 25 or so in Cycleways (but I could be wrong)

As a vegan (yes, I know I am a sandal-wearing, green-voting [not this time though], museli eating hippie, etc) I agonised over getting the leather straps for my metal clips, but they really are the only decent ones, found the other ones fray way too easily.

Where can I get double straps and the cages to use with them? And is it possible to get them in a form where there are two loops for the straps instead of one?

They look really nice but they seem expensive, are they that amount in general?

Plus they dont have sizes, enough to put me off buying and keep looking.
