Anyone see crimecall last night on RTE. They had an item on a shop down the country getting robbed by three Romanian Gypsies (read it in the paper while back) and they failed to mention the fact they where Romanian's at all in the show. You would think that this would help with inquiries into the robbery? For instance earlier in the show they had a piece on some scumbag who robbed a garage in Louth i think it was and they made a point of the fact he had a "strong Dublin accent" and rightfully so. In fact they regularly will describe the crimanals accent. Are RTE afraid of pointing out the fact the crime was commited by three Romanian's for some reason?

I noticed what you are referring to.

It's fairly indicitive of what's wrong with our society.

Look at this thread, it's full of ethnic specifications. It's lol in a nutshell.

Some bloke "known to the guards" in an apartment block carpark is not referred to as "possible northside scumbag" in the same way some dark looking woman of unknown origin in a long skirt is not referred to as "thieving roma gypsie", welcome to the noughties.

best thing you can do is keep pointing these things out, and keep examining the media you're watching.

Just saw program on tv about pickpockets and bag thieves. Street camera footage of crimes commited in London. There were English, South American and Roma, Roma and more Roma.

Imagine a whole Roma Gypsy family entering a shop, around 9 members, including 3 men and the rest women of various ages. They shield a girl from the shop keepers view while she sneaks downstairs to lighten the safe.

All the family is involved. It seems to be their way of life. Feeding off the misfortunes of others. Maybe they contribute to the world. . . . I don't know how though.

But I guess I'm terrible for thinking they might be bad people. I just don't have the strenght to be as PC as others.

i agree they definately looked like Roma gypsies.
    !

Perhaps there was a disproportionate amount of ready-made pasta sauces taken from the shop during the burglary?

I'm at the point now of getting embarrassed for people who keep saying "PC".
