I own a house in Dublin , but I wish to move back to where I am from. Selling and buying new property is out of the question thanks to the massive price drops. Am i better off, does anyone know, renting my house out in individual rroms, or as a whole? I'd appreciate any help I could get. :)

As a whole definitely. Less hassle.

If you rent room by room you will have people coming and going constantly with no obligation on them to find a new tenant for you. If you rent the house as a whole and cover it with a lease then you know that you will be getting a set income for that period and it should be less hassle overall.

That is true, but the problem is the area its in is not known to be a good one, and my fear would be that the house would be trashed in the year. At least with renting by the room, you can legally still enter the house for inspection without prior notice or permission.. I think I am just a bit fearful about the whole thing to be honest

If you get a good tenant- irrespective of the area- there is no reason the house would be thrashed within a year (or longer). Its accepted in the industry- that a full re-furbishment, painting/furniture etc, is necessary every 4-5 years (so people get away with less frequent redecs- but its more contingent on longterm tenants in that case).
