    i'd say volume, derive a formula for the volume of a cone, that sorta thing.
    it hasn't been volume since 2005.

    that said they could throw in anything, its hard to know..

    Well, for integration, know your two "proofs" anyway (i.e. volume of a cone and a sphere). If it's not either of them it'll be a relatively tricky areas question.

    The proof of the factor theorem is likely as well, I'd say.

    Oh, does anybody know if the proof/derivation of the quadratic formula is on the syllabus?

    angle between two lines
    applications of deMoivre
    first principles: cosx or sinx
    integration: volume of a sphere or cone.

    thats what was predicted on countdown to 306, there was more but i can't remember what else!

    One of them lovely root a^2-x^2 things where a=xsin(theta) hopefully

    Do have a weird liking for them!

    Or a cos^3x or sin^3x function!

    our teacher said make sure to know the derive the volume of a sphere and the cone one! volumes of revoulution i think as it hasnt been up in ages! lookin at them if it came up and had it learned of yad be sorted!

    It's where you have sqrt(a^2 - x^2), and you want to integrate it (where a is a natural number). The simplest and most elegant solution is to substitute asin(theta) for x. If you have Text & Tests 5 there's an example on page 78. If you need an explanation just ask.
