Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Digital camera isn't working

    Hi guys,
I have a Fuji digital compact and it has suddenly stopped working (only a month or two out of warranty as well).
It turns on fine, viewfinder screen is fine, but as soon as I press the button to take a picture, the camera dies. The lens/shutter mechanism doesn't even close.

It's not the batteries, I've checked with fully charged ones, and I haven't damaged the camera at all.
Is there any way I can fix this before getting it repaired/buying a new one?

    Thanks

Regardless of the fact that it is out of warranty, i would approach the makers via the place where you bought it, and ask if there is not something that can be done.

Other than that, if you are sure that it just "broke" so shortly out of warranty, start by going to print on every photography website telling your story. Just make sure that you get it exactly right though. No "Porkies":D

If you get no satisfaction there are plenty of shops where you could get it repaired cheapish but only after you've exhausted dealing with the manufacturer.
