Ribble basket contains Assos FI Uno S5 Bib Shorts - 103 euro for this weekend, 2 Durace 7701 chains, 2 7800 brake blocks.

just going to take a quick look around for price comparison, but all items cheaper than CRC

arm warmers / knee warmers ?
Yes, and leg warmers, they are invaluable and would fit in above when wearing shorts/SS jerseys.

Received in today's CRC delivery what may be my most ridiculous purchase since the Bananaguard, a SIDI Race Towel.

    Why, just why?

Oi! I have never, and will never, set foot on a golf course. Pitch and putt and crazy golf don't count.

Shortly before I took up cycling again my wife bought me "Golf for Dummies" for Christmas. That was the final straw.

Well I've never seen hockey in the flesh, never mind played it. Do ordinary Joe/Jane Soaps turn up to hockey with gryphon towels?

Now I have buy a new chainset. Or at least new chainrings, but CRC have new chainsets for cheaper than the indiv chainrings.

Still haven't decided on new pedals and a new saddle

In the past week I have received, tool kit and glasses (the yellow ones) from BPK, 60 recovery bars from ZipVit and I'm just waiting on a pair of shorts. I think that's it anyway.

Try out bikecomponents.de if you are getting a good bit of shimano stuff. Their saving over CRC is pretty good, even with postage.

    Enjoy your new shorts :)

Even when the Assos are wet and stinky they're still the number one choice

I just ordered a second pair so I can rotate them through spring, summer and autumn.

That bike looks very classy though...

Surprisingly, they dont have anything to do with the drink other than the fact that their AL frames are made from the same material as the cans!. Check out their catalogue 970 pages of pure pleasure.........You can view it on line.It took two postmen to deliver the hardcopy :D. If I win the lotto I'm going for one of their TT bikes the TT8000. The frame has aero holes in it! Mad. OKay back to ordering..........

I think my point stands, same material. I would have been really impressed if you had the composite make up of a red bull can rather than a typical AL can.
Where does all the alloy go from ole alloy frames? Might they end up as a red bull can? Does recycled red bull cans end up as red bull AL frames?.
IF we all bought carbon frames would we be reducing or increasing our carbon foot print........ How does a gas turn in to a solid:confused:.

    I just ordered these:
    http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/road-cycling-shoes/shimano-r160-shoes.html

as well some as Cinelli Gel Cork bartape.

Has anyone tried the custom-moulded Shimano insole and heel cup thing at home? Of course, Shimano says it must be done by a dealer.....yadda yadda.
I assume there are some instructions provided in the box and you just stick the things in your oven?

Biting my nails still waiting for them to agree figures before the order can even be placed!!. However in the mean time I might get to work on a Vitus AL frame (1988) I have in the shed that could do with some TLC and be brought back into the light. It would be so :D to find itself featured on the WWW. I feel guilty leaving it out there for so many years.

I called them this afternoon. They were expecting a delivery but they'll be there on the 14th instead :(
If you have ordered them already, you will be allocated a set when they come in next week. *(that's exactly what they said to me )

    Hi,

Here's one of my new purchases.

    110273.jpg

It's a CarryFreedom Y-Large trailer. Bought from Rob at Really Useful Bikes

It's for bringing the kids' bikes to the park, carrying 'stuff' and of course 'chariot racing' if I can find anyone brave enough!

Not that I need to justify it, at least not on here ;)

It isn't actually. While derailleurhanger.com sells a vast range, they don't have my model. I got these ones from an Israeli crowd, pilo.co.il.

Looking forward to a return to crisp shifting. Why can't I ever fall on the left hand side?

I have the same. Would be interested to see what you rig up with the bikes, some people use a roof-rack type arrangement I believe. The general consensus is that our trailer is far superior to tomasrojo's one, which is the important thing.

TBH, they're kids 'bikes': a DoraTheExplorerTrike and a wooden no pedals job. So it will just be a case of strapping them on tight in whatever fashion works. As they get a bit bigger, I'll probably fashion a roof-rack type arrangement, or use a solution like this or this on the xtracycle (currently under build!)

More importantly, now that there's at least two large Y trailers in Dublin, when's the first 'chariot' race? Do you want to run it under Olympic or World Championship rules? (Singlespeed vs. geared 'horses', weighed charioteer vs. weighed team, etc).

Separately, what trailer does tomasrojo have? I have a BOB trailer too, so can't give out about that one yet ;).

He has one of these in which he carries a guitar. Damn hippie. I don't think he'd do very well in a chariot race. I have seen another Y-Frame around Sandyford incidentally.
