Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am actually still undecided on this, but went for it anyway. Hope I don't grow to hate it.

11-32 came as standard. Also ordered a 12-26 which Canyon kindly sent me two of.
Think I'll mothball the 11-32 until I treat my self to an alpine trip. (Marmotte 2016 anyone?)

Yep - that's because the SRM's already on the other track bike!

I'm branching out - actually I've more non-Cervelos than Cervelos and that's my second Dolan.

The benefit over the T3 is the headtube is about 2.5cm shorter allowing me to experiment with a lower position.

Conservative guesstimate of 5k+ there. Nice little project. I'm guessing the injuries have healed. Looking forward to seeing the new fleet pictures.

As Colm said how come the move away from Cervélo?

Getting warm if you are talking sterling!

Mentioned already about the potential to get lower. This will be my pursuit/TT bike (and spare for other stuff as the other Dolan resides at Manchester velodrome)

On the injuries front I am finally feeling a bit more "normal" but still need to race in anger. Plan was to go in next week's "slow" vets race to find my feet but that must be in serious doubt now and it may be the Sundrive track league when I return at this rate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,373 ✭✭✭iwillhtfu

    Ouch!!

I don't know how you race such expensive bikes. Clearly you have mucho deniro but even still I'd be spending the entire rave thinking if I bin this it's gonna be pricey let alone the thoughts of the potential injuries which you know all to well.

    Crazy talk I know :)

Well wear hopefully she brings you luck. Once built up it will certainly look like you mean business.

Only ever crashed one in a race and it only suffered some scuffed bartape ....

In this case the chances of crashing when in a track TT or pursuit are going to be very low. Having said that those bars are only 30cm wide and I've never gone narrower than 40cm before

Building a new set of wheels for the Summer. Mostly because I enjoy it, with the justification that they'll be 11 speed compatible so I can keep using them with the next bike or groupset upgrade I get. Admittedly I already have Aksiums which are 11 speed compatible but I would prefer to only have hand-builts as easier to maintain and repair. There may be an element of self justifying my hobby there ;)

H Son Plus Archetype hard-anodized rim x 2. 24 hole front, 28 hole back. 23mm wide road rim with a 17.5mm internal width. Will go very nicely with the 28mm tyres that I like to use.

    h-plus-son-archetype-hard-ano-rim1.jpg?w=430&h=430&a=7

Pair of Miche road hubs. 24 hole front and 28 back.
    Cataloger.Image.php?i=mozzi-primato-syntesi_f_1_400_1.jpg&ac=22542

and a load of black Dt Swiss Competition spokes and silver nipples. Going to do front and back cross 2. Front has to be cross 2, so I figure that as the back can be cross 2 or cross 3 I might as well match the two of them.

Quozl, you sir are an inspiration!

The first time I met you, maybe 2 years ago now, you had never ridden a bike, now you build wheels for fun!

I decided about 6 weeks ago I couldn't justify buying a new bike and would instead just replace a few bits on my old Boardman...new shifters, brakes, tyres, handlebars, saddle & seatpost later..maybe I should have just bought a Canyon :-P

At the moment it weighs 240* grams. If I took out the bug mesh insert and put in the thinner padding it might get down to the claimed weight of 220 grams.
*not sure how accurate my scales are.

How much were the shorts out of curiosity I hear good reports on the assos gear but always seemed a bit pricey.

Why did I have to read this?! Why did I have to google 'assos outlet store'?! Why???

The credit card took an unexpected beating because of this.

    Lovely.

The colour schemes on the SLs seem to be nicer the the SLXs tbh.

I'm still trying to figure out what the difference is between them both, bar the price. Wheels etc excluded.

I'm working on a presentation to convince my wife that the two helmets are essential first for cooling second for going below the 2hr mark on my 42.8km spin, I'm thinking of giving free "bounty" bars at the end of the slideshow, and perhaps some marzipan, might do the trick here...

I don't have quite the expendable income you guys seem to have, but my recent wiggle order just arrived today :)

    Gore Phantom 2.0 Windstopper
    2x GP 4000s II
    Merino wool base layer
    SPDL Cleats

That's on top of the stuff I got in cycle superstore on Sunday. Nice new reaceblades (christ they are class) and some other bits and bobs :).
