Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Undoubtedly.

That's one of the worst I've seen though. Ouch ouch ouch.

    Shocking..............that the ref was white!

Seriously though that was horrible, the guy who got his leg broken put so much effort into getting towards the ball!

I don't understand the gloves thing either, unless he was the keeper which would explain the tackle :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,977 ✭✭✭Soby

Thats nasty, but I thought Buust's was worse! There was blood all over the pitch and completely ended his career!

Don't know if that fella well ever play again but alot of players seem to be able to recover from these horror injuries eg. Eduardo and Larsson

Couldnt believe one of the other players crying his eyes out
Wierd the lads dancing in the crowd!

Very nasty. Anyone have an update on the guy's condition?

I must say I'm surprised the broadcaster showed the replay!

Not a hope could he ever again play with a complete fracture like that.

No one answered why he had gloves, and he even gave them to someone else who replaced him

    what a ****ed up country

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,128 ✭✭✭NabyLadistheman

I broke my leg playin footie once. Crutches for 6 months. Nuts & bolts - still have em. Both bones, looked down my leg was an L shape. Still can't look at any sort of challenge now on the box. Needless to say I'll not be looking at these.

Colin Healy broke his for the 1st time a couple of days later, nearly got sick when i seen it in the paper

No he didn't, he took of his gloves so he could give another player the captains armband.

Those gloves seemed odd though, they weren't keepers gloves and they weren't the normal wooly gloves, more like what an American Football or Gaelic footballer would use. Why the hell did he need them while playing in South Africa ?.........unless he's the South African Delap.

    Oh man that's nasty!

Larsson's injury is still one of the worst I have seen, shinpad moving or not, his leg was still flopping about like mad.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

I've seen worse. That keeper had dodgy hair

Obviously far too serious a guy

why would someone need gloves in africa of all places.

the mind boggles, anyway that blint who did the tackle wouldn't look out of place in the wire

I've got sympathy pains in my left leg! :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,588 ✭✭✭daithijjj

The lads who are dancin in the stand are off their heads on grade A marijuana. Not an unusual site tbh, i went to south africa for a month and was offered stuff loads of times by lads just sittin on the side of the road. Those lads dont even know where they are , let alone have any appreciation of what happened in front of them.

Anyway, this is the reason we should all drink plenty of milk. 'dem bones dem bones need calcium.

Seriously though, brutal tackle and the commentators sounded more west indian than south african to me.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,536 ✭✭✭Dolph Starbeam

He must have been the keeper, that would explain the gloves and the tackle. Nasty tackle though.
