Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I know there was another thread on this topic but it's the first time that I've got the results back from using 35mm film through a 1931 Brownie 2a and was curious as to peoples thoughts on them. The other camera used that day was a 1979 Olympus Trip. I decided not to do any PPing whatsoever of the shots and to just leave them as they came out, warts and all. I'm more than open to suggestions.

I know that the stitching on the Brownie shots isn't 100% but it's my 1st go and when I get a scanner I won't have this issue. Gunn's could only do each shot in two goes as the negs are HUGE. The were brilliant, careful and thoughtful. Every other shop just stared but Gunn's (after some staring) took it on and spent extra time3 over developing them for me (they deserve the plug).
    All comments/suggestions appreciated:

Crop out the blackness and just leave the negs with the borders! They look really nice!

Thanks North, I know that the camera is so simple that it is lacking some of the depth that a more modern camera can achieve but there is something enjoyable about them all the same.

Ooooh Daz I'm not sure if i'm to gone on that. I don't like fancy borders and frames myself but I think without a background the image is just kinda floating about....like as though the intent hasn't been nailed down. I could be wrong but...hmmm.

I dont mean a border like add a border I hate added borders they look way to tacky.. I mean use the negatives.. holes(i dont know what the proper term is for them)as the border just the way you have it there! Those borders I feel really add to any photo! Especially in meduim format ive found!

I know what you mean about having them floating there though!

A particular style / genre which I think is compelling.

    i like em :)

#2 may need explaining but it is curious nonetheless.

to be really picky I would suggest that as a set - the 'film' format (perforations visible) is a little overpowering. Individually they may be ok. I think it might get somewhat distracting to see multiple shots like that. Just a personal opinion. Others may differ.

    great stuff though.

Thanks very much Artyeva that's much appreciated.

Can't explain no.2, they were just there diong their thing.

Fully agree that within a setthey really do over power, not in a gobsmackingly good photo way but just visually domineering. I didn't put them in the set in pix.ie as I thought just like you said.

Here's a link to my pix.ie site and the the nearly full set from Africa day is there, it's a lot more cohesive without the sprocket ones. Which I do like but I think I've gotta figure out a way to make sense of them.

    <a href="http://pix.ie/craanc/1002911" title="CNV00184 by craanc"><img src="http://photos4.pix.ie/03/7F/037FD86DD5AA457E894F3A983947D20E-800.jpg" alt="CNV00184" width="535" height="800" /></a>

Ok, ok I'm no good at links but the 1st one will get you there or thereabouts.
