Can you ping Google on your computer?

    Start > Run (or WIN + R) > Type "ping 66.102.9.99 -t"

Do the responses say Request Timed Out or Reply from 66.102.9.99?

Possible DNS issue, what is the result of ipconfig /all at the command prompt?

    Possible DNS issue
Not a DNS issue, if he can ping Google and his iPhone connects, it's working fine.

I've seen this a 1000 times, firstly - try rebooting your router and computer at the same time.

Secondly, trying resetting Internet Explorer to it's default - Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset.

Finally, if all that doesn't work - it can only be because of the security software on your computer which is blocking webpages so either turn it off temporarily or reduce the level of it. What security software have you got?

Not if he pinged the IP you gave above: On the PC the DNS might be static and therefore not getting it from DHCP, please leave this to the PROs ;)

Open a command prompt first, run CMD, then enter ipconfig.

The Repair option won't do a whole lot, it won't change the settings. Sounds like you may have a DNS setting on your network adapter, which isn't working. Open the TCP/IP properties for the adapter, and either set DNS to automatic, or enter the OpenDNS ones, which are 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220, and see if that works.

Have you powercycled your router and computer?

Are you using Windows XP or Windows Vista (or another OS).

When did this problem start happening? Was it after any software updates?
