I could spend all day on there, and when you see a photo you like it normally links to a blog with loads more photos of food and recipes. It's like a bottomless treasurechest

Yup, it's one of my favorite blogs of all time, that one.

Foodgawker, which is very similar to Tastespotting, except that the posts get up about 2 days beforehand.

Foodgawker is absolutely my favourite food blog.

Beautiful photography lets you see the food properly and there is a ridiculously brilliant selection of different foods. There's a listing by category at the end of the page if you're looking for something in particular.

    Mmmm...

    First post so 'hello'!

Thank you for the tips. I had a look at foodgawker and tastespotting and they look great. I was even maybe thinking of contributing myself... but the photos are all professionally taken.

Does anyone here put their own work up on sites like these? Are these photos scanned in from magazines and cookery books? I'd prefer to use my own photos.

Thanks guys :) Some great resources there!

As far as I know all the photos on tastespotting are just ones that people spot on blogs and cookery sites and recommend to the site, anyone can do it once you're registered with them. Most of them aren't professional shots, just very nice ones :) Best way to get your photos on a site like that would be to set up a blog, post your photos and submit them to the site you want them to show on

Great sites! Now I'm going to be up all night browsing through all the eye-candy.... mmmmmmm.....

I love cheapeats.ie - its more than just a food blog, lots of different offers in shops and restaurants (check out the classifieds). Lots of tips and recipes. And great links to other food sites. I like it because its Irish and relevant.

Just got hooked on lookandtaste.com - lots of video recipes. Again an irish site so recipes are relevant.

    Hi everyone,
We write a food blog called Chilli and Chocolate.

The blog does have a Belfast slant, but we're not adverse to more input from the rest of Ireland by any means.

The blog centres around recipes that we've made, restaurants or wines we've tried, and producers and shops we've sampled. There's also snippets of food-related news.

It'd be great if you could drop by and tell us what you think.

    Thanks ;)

It's fashion and food, but http://luxirare.com/ is amazing. Ignore the fashion posts if you like, but they're great too!

    I have a food blog at: http://celbridgecooking.blogspot.com/
I know it's a strange name, but it's where I live and I just wanted to get going :-) I also post stuff about gardening. Some of the ingredients I use in the recipes come from there. Like this one: Leek and potato soup.
I usually include a section on the sourcing of ingredients. I have built up a long list of places where I can get various ingredients. The more people that buy from these places the more likely they are to keep stocking the stuff I want to buy.
I find myself with some extra time on my hands at the moment and so am getting plenty of cooking done. Seemed like a good idea to start this.

    Tartelette

Really like this one - mostly oriented towards starters/light meals and (especially) desserts/cookies/tarts/etc. Fantastic photography.

We should add more to this!

Like people said above, Smitten Kitchen is really good - I only just discovered it yesterday and already have a few recipes I want to try out. Particularly this onion soup recipe.

The Philadelphia website has some interesting recipes and they don't look difficult (the ones from the commercials look nice). I haven't tried any yet, though...

Bakerella is super cute. Hungry Girl is also good for low calorie recipes.
