Anyone know if it has to a gmail email address? I think I might have requested an invite with a Google Apps email not a regular Gmail address.

You can use any email address to receive the invite – when you click on the invite-link you get the option of signing up to Wave using an existing Google account or to set up a new one, but, as far as I can make out you can’t use Wave as a service in your Apps account.

In my case I just used my existing Google account (I just have gmail). A friend of mine got his invite to a hotmail account & set up a gmail account at the prompt.

I was looking at the Google support forum where some people were having problems using their Google Apps account when signing up for Wave. I’d suggest that you have a read through it, but one Google employee said the following:


''Hi everyone,

I'll try to clarify some points about usernames in Google Wave that should help answer your questions.

1) Currently, you cannot add Google Wave as a service in your Google Apps account.
2) You should create your Google Wave username on an existing "regular" Google Account, or you'll need to create a Google Account with another email address you own.
3) Google Wave, Gmail, Google Profiles, and Picasa all use the same namespace. This means that if a username you want for Google Wave is already in existence in another Google Account, you won't be able to use it - even if the other Google Account isn't yet using Google Wave. This is to prevent future collisions and a great deal of confusion.
4) If you're a Gmail user, Google Wave will use the same username as your Gmail account. (In fact, right now, you'll need to create a Gmail account in order to use Google Wave.)''

Maybe some other boardies might have been in a similar position to you & could give you more accurate information, but I thought I'd bring this to your attention in case you wanted to use a different Google account to sign up for the time being to avoid any problems.

Some of my new waves seem to be arriving in my ''all'' box & not appearing in my ''inbox'' . Is this happening to anyone else?

When and where do you invite other people once you get access yourself.

Initially seems pretty cool but if everyone isn't on it then it seems like a waste!!

hey guys i just got my invite.. it wasnt that difficult.. go onto twitter and search google wave invites.. people post about having invites alllllllot on twitter. just ask them and one of them will send u one
