Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

After getting the car hooked up to the computer I have been told the throttle body is faulty, the price of a new one is over 300 euro. somone told me you can get these cleaned, has anyone done this? and anyone know where you can get this done in Cork and how much?.

    Thanks.

They can be DIY cleaned. That'd be the first thing to try. Failing that, a breakers/online parts store or independant Renault specialist is the way to go.

Think BrianD3 has the link to the process explained on Renaultforums saved.

Failing thathead to Renaultforums(link in my sig) and a bit of asking/searching will have it sorted fairly quick.

EDIT, even if it comes to changing it, they can be picked up cheap. http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=p3907.m38.l1313&_nkw=laguna+throttle+body&_sacat=See-All-Categories

Definitely DIY job for my Alfa 156 and if you can DIY it on an Alfa- Laguna should be ok too...
I did it on the 156 to cure irratic idle and after cleaning the MAF. I clear the throttle body with electronic cleaner and a cotton bud, being very careful not to move the butterfly valve much from its position.
I've also seen it being removed and cleaned...
