Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I bought a Nikon D40 about a year ago. Its has a standard 18-55mm lense. I want to buy a zoom lense that isn't too expensive. I was looking at
TAMRON Aspherical [IF] MACRO AF 18-200mm F/3.5-6.3 XR Di II LD Lens
    and
Nikon 55-200MM F4.5-5.6G AF-S VR DX Black Lens

    I don't know a huge amount about what's better.

    Any views??

    Thanks

The 55-200 would make more sense considering you already have the kit lens.
Also its f5.6 at 200mm while the Tamron is only f6.3 at that focal length.

This Sigma will get you up to 300mm (but you'll have a gap in 55 to 70mm)

If you were still thinking of the Tamron 18- 200 Nikon fit- I have one in very good shape - and would sell at a keen price

I was checking the prices they go at and came across this...

As I would not be selling much below this - this seems like a real bargain for a new lens.

I'm stayin' in Cork City next week in a hotel called the Maldron hotel.

I'd do business at 160 euros- and that includes a hoya UV filter!

and de box and de instructions and all
