Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

98 car worth the nct?

I have a 98 fiesta and the nct is up next february. I have no idea why i am even thinking about this now but, is it worth the money and the hassle?

I don't think i can fork out 700-800 in repairing it for the nct. That's what it costed me the last time and probably the same again this time around. For a car that isn't worth much, seems stupid.

The car is still driving but does have some little problems. The fan isn't working. I am topping up with oil alot, so i suspect a leak but its not very much at all.

I am looking for ways to save more money, so i am just wondering is a heap of sht worth it?

the fan not working could be something as simple as a fuse. as for the oil , do you notice stains on your driveway? the car could be burning oil which would not help the emissions .

what got replaced the last time? they might not need replacing.

what you could do is send in the nct early see what it fails on and see if its worth fixing then.

(the only problem is though once one send it through and it fails you are stuck with a car with no nct so you would have had to make your mind up by then if it is not worth it have an idea about buying another one.

Oh lord, not buying another one for quite some time. I want to go back to college. I don't want the expense of a car.
