TV3 after 10 years on the air plan all out coverage of the Election counts, I suppose I should be happy :)

    RTÉ ONE: Saturday 6th

    13:00 - 14:00 Elections 2009
    15:55 - 18:00 Elections 2009
    18:01 Six-One News
    21:15 9 News

    RTÉ ONE: Sunday 7th

    13:00 - 14:00 Elections 2009
    18:01 Six-One News
    21:00 9 News
    21:30 - 23:35 Elections 2009

    TV3: Saturday 6th

16:00 - 17:30 TV3 News: Election Special with Vincent Browne
    17:30 - 18:00 TV3 News @ 5:30
18:00 - 19:00 TV3 News: Election Special with Vincent Browne

    TV3: Sunday 7th
    17:30 - 18:00 TV3 News @ 5:30: Election Special

    TG4: Saturday
    19:00 - 20:30 Vóta 2009

And with coverage across RTÉ Radio 1, Newstalk and maybe 4fm and Today FM.

It should be an interesting day for news coverage for Elections 2009 or as I like to call them

By, European and Local Elections 2009.

    BEL Elections 2009 :D

I think the main question this year is how do you spell By/Bye?

Both RTÉs and TV3s coverage was on way to early in the day. No results just talk about the exit poll. When results did come in RTÉ placed them on screen which was good but it only lasted for the last 20mins.

TG4 had the right idea with the time but fail to put updates on the screen during the broadcast.

I know RTÉ continued with coverage on Saturday night, Sunday Morning and Sunday Night but I think their coverage should have started at 9pm on Saturday night.

To me it seem like TV3 and RTÉ just wanted to be first with the news hence the early starts.

No Election news on Today FM it all seemed to move to NewsTalk, where was sam smyth?
