Can anyone recommend a good cheap wireless router that has a physical switch to turn the wireless on and off?
    Thanks.

I've personally never came across one. One option could be to have a wired router, and a wireless access point plugged into that, then turn off the access point when you don't need it.

Most routers just rely on you logging into it and turning the wireless on/off.

Another solution would be to remove the antenna when not in use, you'd still have access via wireless but at a very limited range.

    Who is your isp?

If you have router/modem already (which you might have with a dsl isp) you could just use the wireless router as a wireless point with the routing turned off and continue to use the modem/router for your routing. Then turn the wireless switch on at the mains as you require it.
