Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Wartime memories

Madam, – I would like to make contact with Irish citizens who served with the British and Allied armed forces during the second World War who would be willing to talk to me about their experiences. I’m especially keen to hear from men (or their families) who served in the Irish defence forces, prior to joining the British/Allied armed services.

My next book, which is about Irish soldiers during the second World War, will be published early next year.

I can be contacted in connection with this at 085 7354594 or telfordbear@hotmail.com, or at the address below. – Yours, etc,

    ROBERT WIDDERS,

    1 Kilteragh,

    Dooradoyle, Limerick.
