ah brilliant! i was certain it was just buzzards we had here. almost a daily site if i walk up the fields behind my house. they seem to roost in the area. its great to see and why i bought a camera and lens last year. have seen (what might have been) these particular birds a number of times over the last couple of months and noticed they had more forked tails but just thought they were juvenile buzzards.
    ill email them so. thanks.
how specifically do you identify them as different? they seem to have lighter markings around the neck and the forked tail though i have read that buzzards can be quite variable in appearance
