Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What to quote for licensing of photo

    Hi,

I've been contacted via Flickr about the licensing of one of my photos for the purposes of an eLearning course. The requester has asked for a 72dpi copy of the photo. It's for a free eLearning course by a commercial for-profit website. The guy who contacted me is a contracted designer.

I was considering offering the photo at a reduced cost including a credit (link to my website) and also offering a higher cost for just the photo itself without any credits.

What do you think of this approach, and what should I be quoting for based on what you would pay on a stock photo site? I have no experience selling my images, so I'm keen to make this happen for the first time without scaring the guy off by setting a high price.

    Any thoughts very much welcome.

there was a link in a previous thread about rates set the NUJ in England.

will try to find it and you can pass it on to the guy - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by the prices.

    Edit:
    FOUND IT !!!

    its on this thread: http://boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=55422723

Thanks very much for this. Wow those rates are very high. I can't see my potential buyer going anywhere near those. How does the likes of GettyImages compare? I think if I suggested prices even half these I would scare this guy off quick smart.

Any other thoughts on where to set a first quotation price - one I can negotiate on? I'd rather make the sale than scare the guy away. The price isn't a big factor for me, but at the same time - the more the better ;)

I think whoever came up with those prices were on one or many drugs at the time.... If you even suggested such prices over here you'd be laughed at...
