Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Is Gibson on the bench?

he's injured. withdrawn from the squad.

we really need to get a hold on this and get some possession back.

If it stays like this it's just a matter of time before Bulgaria score. We're sitting back and letting them pick us apart.

We should take off Whelan and bring on Miller.

Hopefully there's time for us to throw caution to the wind.

Trap wont change anything. We know how stubborn he is

I know he shouldve score once tonight but he's passing tonight is very good

Twice and apart from that he's been average.

When was the last time we were able to hold onto possession for longer than 10 seconds?

We don't need to throw caution to the wind tbh, we just need to pass it better and make sure the ball is attached to a green shirt.

We really should be going for it a little more. The Bulgarian defence is useless.

We can't get out of our own half. Very depressing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

It really is batton down the hatches. We really need to start keeping possession or they will score.

McGeady ready to come on apparently.

McGeady's coming on, he's the only real option on the bench as far as i can see.

Exactly. It's become putrid to watch, we're just hoisting aimless ball after aimless ball. It's only a matter of time before we're punished.

Leon Best on for Robbie Keane.

Ireland will be lucky not to concede a second before full-time.

That was a heart-in-mouth moment. Whelan is a major liability.

Never? Unless Morrison and Steven Reid have played together...

For a must win game, Bulgaria don't seem to be playing with an awful lot of impetus.

    Dunne MOTM

Trappatoni is more animated than the Simpsons at times,

for a man of his age it's impressive!

Just hope we don't concede what would be a killer late one

Any side with Wheland and Andrews in the middle of the park are not going to hold onto the ball and create things.

Job done. We might not have deserved to win, but they certainly didn't either.

Richard Dunne will wish he could play against Berbatov every week - complete garbage.

Good result. Well done lads, a really, really important point.

Massive game from Dunny. Think Folan also did a good job tonight.

FT. A draw is a very good result all things considered.

Shame we didn't take all 3 points but I'd have taken a draw before the match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,928 ✭✭✭dubmick

well done lads!! nervy moments at the end

Job done - Dunny man of the match :)

Full-time 1-1. Good result considering Ireland were outplayed for the final hour.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,434 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

we'd have taken 1-1 at the start of the game and Berba should have made it two!

    Definitely take that result!

    Berbatov eh?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

    I'll take that.
Dunne was absolutely immense. It was a McGrath like performance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,591 ✭✭✭✭Aidric

I would have taken it before the start, first twenty aside though it was hapless stuff. Full credit to Dunne tonight, magnificent performance.

That was difficult viewing. As much as we were unable to retain possession, it was a really dogged performance. Dunne, Duff and Folan in particular can take bows, we wouldn't be coming back with a point without them.
