Can you retro fit cruise control to your motor?

My Astra H came with cruise control free-of-charge, thank you very much... but I have since learned that ALL Astras are fitted with cruise control, but the lower versions lack the buttons on the indicator stalk to activate it... so you can pay Opel several hundred euro for this as an extra or else buy a spare part indicator stalk with the cruise control buttons for very little money and fit it yourself.

Can this be done on other cars?

Or do you know of any other simple and cheap upgrades? Not necessarily to do with cruise control, but where you can get one over on the manufacturer trying to charge hundreds for something that costs them pence.

yes most cars these days are like this,just a matter of buying the indicator stalk and getting some one with the relevent car diagnostic equipment ot activate it.

Wiring the stalk can be fidly on certain cars,i know form VWs that its easier to retro fit to a diesel golf over a petrol golf for example.

I am looking to find a kit for 2005 Honda Accord. I have a base spec SE, but higher versions have cruise control. The area of the steering wheel where the cruisecontrol contols should be has an empty plastic case. I am hoping I can just buy the controls, wire it somehow and enable the CC in the car's computer...

Any suggestions where to start?

Here's a link to a guy on Ebay who will fit it to most German cars. In Dublin every 6 weeks.
