a basic paring and shoeing costs me €50 for all four hooves!having said that prices vary with every farrier and every region.Pesonally i wouldnt pay over €60 unless it was for specialist shoeing!!

It's around 50 to get a set of shoes put on in south Kildare. Not sure about Dublin area, though.

€60 is what I pay, with road pins in.

E100 for egg-bar shoes with front pads and silicone filling  in the Midlands. Unfortunately don't have much option, but fortunately it keeps the horse going and safe so...

I am reading these prices and am really quite shocked - especially the €45 one. I am quite involved in the farrier trade and my understanding is the the average price for shoeing in the south is €75 (I am in the north, and the going rate up here is about £50ish). This would, of course, be a qualified farrier who is registered. And I think thats a fairly average price. I know some who are more expensive.

As far as I know a basic trimming costs approx €25.

i last paid €30 for trim for the mare and €60 for trim and 2 new front shoes on the 3 year old. Egg bar shoes are coming off my jumper today, farrier will prob put them back on though, so another €100 will be spent on him..no going out tonight for me :-(

    Hi L,

I live in North Dublin. I have two horses that live out, a mare and foal. I also have 2 in full work. The mare and foal get dressed (trimmed) every couple of weeks.

The farrier we use is local and really knows his stuff... charges E25 for dressing, a full set is E65 and a reset E55.

If you need his name and number just PM me.

    Hope that helps:)

    Thanks for the info.
