New Motor - Suggestions

Ok - here's a pretty general question!

With a budget of around €30k, what would you go for in the coupe range?

Not interested in modified motors and thinking of something max 2 years old. The BMW 3-series is the obvious candidate but want to see if there are any decent alternatives. Still not fully sold on the looks of the latest 3-s coupe.

335d seems a bit out of budget, maybe theres one in the UK.

I'm guessing from the OP's post that they mightn't be interested in the running costs of anything much above 2.0?

Not as flash as the other makes mentioned...but you'd get a well specced 2009 VW Scirocco for €30k.

Thanks guys. Some good suggestions here -

My main criteria are;

- good looks
- staying within budget (I'm paying cash)
- resale value

I'm less concerned about engine size

Meh. I had a 155 for years, so I have some Alfa owner points, but I wouldn't bother with a Brera or 159.

I saw a new Scirocco parked in the road for the first time yesterday, in white, and it looks so much better in the metal.

This Scirocco is a bit rich, but I think heated leather will help sell it on later, and make your life a bit better in the meantime!
