My latest one, something quite different from what I usually do. Any suggestions on what genre this would fall under (I'm leaning towards Progressive Trance) are much appreciated.

Nice to have some time off to do a song. Sun Ra and his Archestra. Shame about the truth of friends in the song.

Another new one from me. This one was laying around for a while and just finished this afternoon. A trancey, tripped vibe to it. Any feedback is much appreciated:

Really enjoyed listening to that man, very nice summer vibe to it. That mini breakdown adds a lovely flavor to it.

Working on this at the moment, bit of a juke type thing. Still in early stages, so all suggestions welcome.

The sample at the start, the one that sounds like pacific state needs more decay at the end of it, its cut wrong. That noise thing that comes in at around 30 seconds is kinda annoying.

Vocal is okay, but repetitive, wheres the efx automation.

When all those kicks come in at around 1.30 its too much, have some of them at different velocities maybe, or put in different kickdrums.

The structure seems a bit all over the place aswell.

Overall id say go back to the drawing board here with the elements you have and try to develop those elements using efx and try to give the track a better structure, also id consider chaning the drums completely.

    Keep it up!

I think it sounds really good. You might have overused the rain beads though or maybe you haven't - I'd like to hear the thing with a solid house 4/4 through it. You could tighten it up a bit - but some parts sound really good. The arrangement makes sense - but sometimes it doesn't. Some bits should be much longer.

    Hope you like.

Just listened to your track. The two main synth lines, arent in the same key as eachother, im sorry but it makes it sound really really bad. Also the sounds themselves are very cheesy/tinny. What did you use to make this?

Also consider putting more cymbals in it could defo do with an open hi hat and a ride to get it a fuller sound.

Okay, I think the saxophone part is sitting too low in the mix. Also, it seems like it would work better if it was introduced in a breakdown by itself. Another problem I think is that the sax line feels overtly complex as a hook and not given enough time before you start soloing with it.

This is a masterclass (for me) in saxophone being used in a dance track:

Hope this helps and thanks for all the help over the last couple of weeks. Hope the EP is doing well!

Cheers man, its a trumpet actually but i definitely can see were you are coming from.

I might try to put little bits of the trumpet in from the start and build it up to the main hook.

Did it sound good otherwise? (Would it get you dancing?)

made me bop my head alright.

had another listen there and the impacts are a bit muted. i'd say it's probably down to preference with them things though. i normally have them higher but that could just be the way i do it etc. (no right or wrong with that )

    still love it

Cheers for the listen dude. Was just something I lashed together today so I'll take the criticism. I hear you on the tinnyness/cheesyness and agree a few cymbals and rides could add a bit more to it. Cheers again.

I really like your sound Steve, some really great tracks.

As for this track in particular, some nice ideas but I just feel it's missing something but can't quite put my finger on it. Possibly missing some bass. I know it's heavy on the kick sound, but maybe giving it some bass notes will give it an added umph. But that may be just my preference.
