just made this trance tune, i have done some eq'ing, etc. but i think the track could be better. tell me what you think can be improved any feedback and opinions is appreciated. :)

The intro 0-27 could be twice as long.

Same with 28 - 53 - actually 3 times as long would be good.

And the percussive melody line that comes in at 56 ---- there's no reason why could drop everything away and let it have a mini break to itself - then bring every else back in

It's a good track - I think it's missing about 3 minutes - large sections of hypnotic going nowhere.

A vocal woould be cool - but I've always hated, the Screws of The world, glamour model vocals in most trans. Confused German transexual vocals, they're always cool.

There's some great melodic stuff in there.

    Kieran, I warn you
Do not take anything I say that seriously.

I like the way the drums sound.

I think the synth lines might be a little too loud and beefy.

I like the way the side chaining comp sound just as it breaks out of the break downs - but then it sounds like the rhythm, of the side-chaining, drags against the beat - instead of pulsing.

You could make the break at 3 min 30 second longer. Drop the volume of the stabbing bass at the start - It should rise in volume, and energy (if you start at the top, you have nowhere to go but down) - not start at the maximum level. Don't add the second line until it hits 30 seconds.

That spoon and sieve hi-hat pattern is horrible. At least I don't like it.

I think you drop some melodic element at 50Whatever (where the break kick patterns come in) -- I think you should have used a kick with a shorter decay for the break kicks - it's too muddy.

    New techno number

Bit of a dark garage influence to this one.

Would be interested to hear your thoughts, spent a lot of time on this one.

There's a remix competition over on RJD2's website running until the 31st and I did up a mix up for it. If I could get some feedback on it before I submit it that would be great:

Been playing around with a kind of techhy/dubstep vibe these past few weeks and decided to start a new alias. This is the first track, still a work in progress, with some breakbeat/dubstep elements to it. Any feedback on this is much appreciated as its most definitely a new style for me. :)

How's it going? Stuck a track up last week and putting up a newer version of it now. Made some changes based on feedback that I got from here last time round so thanks a million for that. Once again, I'll be glad of any feedback on how this version is sounding.

I really like this. wasn't too sure of it when it started off but once it gets going, it sounds deadly. The only change I can think of would be to have more of the rapping in it

Cheers for the feedback man!! Yeah still working on it but just trying to figure out where else the vocals would fit or suit it. Thanks again.

Very nice track to listen to, love the spacey kind of vibe to it. Synths have a cool soft tone to them as well. One thing I would say is it sounds a little over compressed but thats nothing some eq'ing can't sort out. Interesting slice of electronic.

That's impressive. You should do more. I think you've nearly got it down. A lot of it is up to the standard you'd hear on Rinse FM. The rhythms are biatch to get down.

However, the first two minutes of your track doesn't sound as good as the rest of the track. Nothing awful. It just sounds like, you didn't put in as much work on the first two minutes, as you did with the rest of the track. I listened to it on my laptop speakers - and you can hear all these really great and interesting sounds (some "how the f did he do that" sounds) - but when I had the speakers plugged they got a little swamped by the bass (that could be my speakers). I think there's some nice kick runs in there - but they're not as clear as they could be.

Overall, I think it's a really accomplished track. And technically, in terms of production, I think it's the best thing I've heard you do.

Really appreciate the feedback on this man, thank you. It's definitely a new production experience for me as well, so I'm happy to hear it sounds right in some places. It's a sound I've been playing around with for a few weeks as I've simply run into a writers block on the trance/progressive house front. I'll certainly be looking at improving this track and eventually creating another, though as you said, it takes absolutley ages to get the right beat for it :D. Thanks again man.

Drums are seriously nice in this track. Im not really into the synths, except the one thats on its own at about 3.25, would have liked to see more of that with just the drums evolving.

Nice work tho all the same

Cheers man! People seem to like those tracks, funny cause their the ones i like the least, ha i guess thats just the way things go sometimes.

From memory i think 23 years uses absynth heavily aswell as some Arturia stuff, Tokyo nights i cant remember at all, although ive a feeling that was done using Arturia stuff aswell.
