Kind of a bouncy house track I put togther with my sister providing the vocals. Only recorded on her iPhone so the quality isn't great. Must say it's pretty tricky mixing vocals. Anyhoo see what y'all think.

She has really interest voice with some real soul in there.

No... Negro...You've used Ghetto initiative. Do not wait for the car stereo to come to you, use the tools at your disposal make the car stereo come to you.

I don't it's a case of a problem mixing the vocals wrong. You just too much room to everything else. If you have other things competing in the same range - something is going to win out. You should have had a break down, with not much more than her voice. .......And I bet you got that drum sample from a hardcore sample CD.

I think you strip it back to the bounce and voice.. and work it up from there

She has a good voice. If I was back in the habit of doing tracks quickly, I'd really love to remix that. I'd remix your sistas ass negro.

lol, I'll let her boyfriend know!

Thanks for the feedback. The kick is just some genric sample that I think I put too much compression on.

I wouldn't think this would be many peoples cup of music on here, but then again I could be wrong anyway, Just a little mess about session I had during the week trying to make some funk/disco style stuff. Let me know what ya think :)

Vocal samples ? mostly from this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaNzrXAUHBk but had a few other samples laying about, cant remember where I got them now though, then just messed about with the pitch and added just a few effects on top.

had a listen there, it sounds really good. I really like that Free Your Soul track, it's very chilled out.
The only criticism I'd have is that I sometimes think ye over do the wobble a wee bit on some of the dubstep tunes, especially on Time to Get Grimey.

How's it going? Here's something I've been tinkering about with. Any and all feedback is welcome.

I really like the melodic elements in this and the intro is great. I think the kick and snare are too weak though and the bassline could do with being more aggressive as well. I have to say that kick note that's played early makes it sound like the track is skipping! Maybe that's just me though :)
I like the 'aah' sound at the breakdown as well

I think you have the full track there.

The percussion could do with some more "cosmic knowledge". It's a little too ridged. Some ghost kicks, a little more bit of dynamics on the hi's. dnb should sound like a drum machine that thinks it's in jazz band. A good jazz - not just people hitting random notes thinking it's jazz.

Listen back to it, after maybe a beer, and hear what's missing in the percussion.

thanks for the feedback. I think I know what you're getting at in that it needs to be jazzier and a bit more free flowing.

I'll get meself a slab of cans and have another go at it over it the weekend :D

Work in progress. Remix of this tune:

Pretty different/out there. Still yet to come up with a proper beat, but throwing around few ideas.

My theme to the sunset vibe at Cafe Del Mar, the place has a great atmosphere at sundown And I think its quite fitting! Still in development, but it's one of my fave tracks I've made.

Thanks very much! I see what you mean on the wobble being a bit too much, sure still have a lot to learn and feedback certainly helps!
Jut had a listen to some of the stuff on your soundcloud! Some great tracks! :)

Sound cloud chewed up me MP3 a little - there's some burning that's not on the original MP3

Here's a second version, where I did more compression before submitting it too souncloud.
    http://soundcloud.com/krdnoobian/volatile-proton-noobian-1

It's still has some of the artefacting and the dynamics I wanted are gone. Soundcloud must assume that everyone wants their tracks banging.

That woosh noise is really great - I think you over used it though. In the earlier parts of the track I don't think you need to repeat it.

How did you do it?........The woosh noise - it's actually really surprising?

In the mix, there's a lot of muddiness in the mids, and there isn't much in the highs. If you're using stereo speakers, or a stereo, try to make sure the system isn't sweetening the mix. I'm no one to talk.

Some nice Kraftwerky melodies going on in there.

It's just a small sweep sample pitched and eq.

Cheers krd, I'll have another go at sorting out the mids and see what I can do about bringing up the highs. Thanks for the feedback
