you built up a great atmosphere and I really liked those voices that came around the 2 minute mark but was disappointed when the track started fading out. It was a great buildup and I wanted the beat and song to really kick into gear. You should really consider going all out with the track

I agree with the above. Was waiting for some serious 4 4 kick to come and drive the rest of the track along. Love the vocal samples and the deep bass

I'm finding it hard to get a bassline for this...and its since made me question does it really need one... So I put it to you, should try add one or leave as? Thanks

Touches of bass coming through?? to my ears anyway, why not follow along the same lines? Good track though, certainly better than a lot of the stuff posted here, appears to be made with hardware too??

Way to insult other people's efforts there man. Why not just stick to commenting on the track posted?

I dont think he meant it in an insulting way,but to be honest people shouldn't be so precious about there tracks.

Not being precious at all. I've put up a few tacks and welcome all criticism, good or bad. It's just that I think if you are going to comment on a particular track there's no need to deliver a broadside condemnation of everything else.

Yeah your right there's probably no need but there's also no need to highlight his comment.
I think it was more him giving praise for the song and not slating other peoples productions in one swipe.
Anyway I still havent listened to the song, must get round to doing that:)

    Don't bother. It's crap.

Just adding a little balance to the thread.

Cool track.. Id just put some little bass stabs in it between the beats not an actual bassline but some sub maybe to give it some oomph..

Great sound though reminds me of aural imbalance.

a little balance...or a little personal stab at me for the last comments I made about you the last time I spoke to you. Still up your snot about it I see.

You heard 1:44 of an unfinished, unmixed, track that still needs to be arranged and mastered and say its crap without offering any reason to back up your opinion. Nothing short of petty and frankly quite sad from a grown man.

A short simple track made with just a 606 and a 303 with a hint of delay from Ableton: http://soundcloud.com/splitradix/office-acid-5

Really like this, i think theres plenty of space for a nice bass line, its fine as it is, but maybe a subtle bass line could really lift the track from good to excellent

This is awesome, my only gripe with it is its a bit too clean sounding maybe? that could just be personal preference though.... i like my acid dirty ;)

First in a series of collaborations between my two different monikers, hence the title. Also an experiment with time constraints, allowing myself just 2 hours to complete the track.

Hope you enjoy, feedback appreciated as always!

That's more than a hint of delay. A stereo delay works really well on the 303 baselines. Though if you put a put filter before the delay so it's not putting delay on the lower bass notes.

I like the bass line at the end. I'm not so crazy about some of the atonal notes earlier in the track.

Did you record the whole thing live into Ableton? The 303 and 606 going at once?

Before you go bearing a grudge against me, for the rest of my entire life. It was a joke, obviously, and it was not personally directed at you or your tune.

And Barry, I can't f'ing remember the last comments you made about me. Maybe I have a thicker skin, or brain damage, or little of both. Whatever you said, I don't think I was too devastated. I might have remembered.

I like it, but the bass is a little loud for my speakers they can't handle it. *cough* they're not great speakers. It might be just a little bit much in the lower frequencies.

You could put a tinsy bit of side-chain compression on the bass, just at the kick points. It would make it a little bouncier, and make the kick stronger.

2.53 and 4.17 - you could use a little noise sweep or something in the build ups there. The drops suddenly come out of nowhere. A little "here it comes" sweep would let people know, "here it comes" - and then a sweep dying away would make the drop fit nicer.

Yeah, I listened on headphones and my brains nearly turned to mush :D. Definitely a bit too much low end. Nice tune though, I didn't think the analog snare would work when I first heard it but it sits quite well. Personally I'd add another squelchy acid line over the top.
