Bit of a live set im working on. TBH this is the first track i have made since i left ireland. I didnt bring my monitors with me which is really annoying me, so this is mixed on a ****ty pair of headphones, and i mean a really ****ty pair.

Let me know what you think, especially with reference to the mix.

I am keeping it quite basic and minimal so that it is easy to play live.

(I'm typing this as I listen) That kick and sub are sweet. The shaker/hh sounds a teensy bit dull though, might need a little eq boost.
You have a crash/fx hit that first comes in at 2.16 that feels a bit too loud in the mix.

I really like the little stabs that fade in as well, although again they are a tad harsh when they're in full at 5.20 (you have a filter envelope on the fade in as well?)
Great drop though and loving the warp noises after the drop.
    Top stuff :)
Other than that it's wicked. Really had me nodding along here :)

Been working on this the last few days would love some feedback
    https://soundcloud.com/seanc/mehring-2/s-jSoaW

I'm quite partial a bit of staright-up techno. After an initial listen I have that little repeated melody playing back in my head :)
I think the kick has a bit too much of a tail on it though and it dominates the mix a bit too much. Like the ride that comes in (maybe you could bring that out in the mix a bit more, adds a nice groove to the track).
Might need a little bit of variation here and there just to keep the interest up.
I would also consider layering the clap (nice reverb on that btw) with a nice tight snare, just to give it a bit of added punch

Cheers for listening - this is the first track Ive made in the 5 months or so that Ive been at this that I actually like ha. I hear what your saying with the variation I'm working on that now and will bring up the ride in the mix.

    Cheers

Reuploaded with modulation on the synth and a new subtle perc line.

Definitely a better flow to this version. Love the little effected vocal that comes in on the drop at 2.30. Track is getting inside my head man. Wouldn't mind a download! ;)

How's it going everyone. Haven't put one up in a while so here's one that's been sitting in the background for a bit that I finished a draft of this evening. Let us know what you think.

I so want to hear that in a club. Fantastic stuff. Stabs have a nearly industrial sound to them. Very tasty.

Well I finally got round to finishing my latest track.
    https://soundcloud.com/subbed/echo

(shed head is going to have a field day :D)

I think I'm in agreement with most of the rest in terms of the kick, it sounds a bit lightweight in relation to the track. I'd like to hear some of the more background parts brought more to the fore and I think the lead synth works nice when you use it as a stab but not so sure of it when it plays that melody. I think the bass works well on it.

    Sound.
Yeah I think I'm definitely gonna have to rework or replace the kick altogether. Might do an alternate version at some stage and use some of your suggestions above.

Great bassline. Really gives a nice bit of movement to the track. Nice use of the old skool 'pong' hit as well. I think the crash is a little bit short, maybe could use a extra bit of reverb. I'm not a massive fan of the kind of 8-bit jittery sounds. They seem to just sit out a little too much from the rest of the track.
Like the 303-style melody that fades in every now and then, although personally I would probably add a bit of distortion to it just to give it a bit more menace. Nice lush pads as well.

Really like that acid line - cool track, sorry I can't give much more feedback seems nicely mixed to my ear. The only thing that stuck out to me was that high hat, you obviously have swing on it but maybe a fraction too much?

That track's really good fun. Would love to hear it out in a club. Love the arp stabs that come in after a minute or so. Deadly stuff.

I like the sections with the gritty bassline playing through and the pre-delay snare is cool. I was really waiting for a big kick to come in at some stage though. The synth loop that comes in a the start of the track isn't an interesting enough 'sound' in my opinion. Could do with being a bit fatter.

Really like the synth on this. Kick is nice and chunky but maybe stands out a tiny bit too much in the mix. I'd like to see more progression on that synth line. It's almost just a tease to have to return the same after the drop. I think the cowbell is a bit too bright, maybe a little filter on it would be nice. Good work though.

Really nice groove on this one. I think the toms that come in around 2.30 are a bit too high in the mix. Not much but they stood a bit too muh for me. I like the modulated metallic sound but it is present in pretty much the entire track. I might drop in in and out every now and then just to mix things up a little. Solid techno though.

Sound, thanks for listening mordeith. Aye, the kick and the low end in general need a good bit of beefing up. Gonna have another look at this in the next day or 2

Nice spot again, thanks very much will change that up a bit now. Its funny how lazy my ears get when I listen to something over an over.

some really nice bits here. that deep bass judder is real menacingng. i don't like pitch automation on the synth near the start, just sounds weird. nice second half although there are some level issues with the mix at times.
    Thumbs up.

yeah i began to notice that too.
yeah, i was delighted with that part. i took alot of bass out of the synths at the start to give the drums room but i think i over did it and messed up the balance.
i guess tweaking everything to perfection is the hardest part about all this.

Thanks man, youre always on here giving advice, its awsome
