Nice house sounds. Wouldn't be my kind of thing but it all sits together nicely. Only thing is there is a bit of a ring on the tail of the kick. Personally I'd remove that.

The PS1 sample is class. Instant memories of Ridge Racer!
Like the stuttery bass and punchy kick. Wouldn't be a massive fan of the violin sample but cool job nonetheless.

Leadline is too loud in the mix.it also just jumps in after the break, its never hinted at before that and its jarring when it kicks in.

Definetly not a fan of this style and the rapping is pretty dire but the production isnt too bad on it apart from the mixdown of the leadline

Sounds pretty good man,Love the little bass riff at the end of the bar
the piano seems a little high in the mix after the breakdown as well as not sounding too great

Pretty much second what Sean says about the track. Rapping isn't hectic to be honest and I don't think it adds anything to the track really. Might be better getting some female vocal instead. Solid kick and bass though.

awesome. i never heard the original song so i dont know whats being remixed or whats original but overall it sounds pretty awesome. the sound of the bells or whatever they are in the background could be toned down just a tweak, but thats personal opinion really. loved it

thanks man, yeah i think the guitar tones give it that feel.
you might be right, i did have to tone them down when mixing but i wanted to keep a sort of industrial sound to it at the same time.

I'd love some honest feedback, on this track in particular as it's quite trance-y. I normally produce pop instrumentals (for writers & labels..) Any songwriters, feel free to get in touch too!!
    Thanks, Baz

This is a really fun track. Nice summer vibe. Two things I would say are that it's a bit long and I'm not mad of that distorted guitar sound that comes in later on in the track. Doesn't sound great really.

Really very nice. Great bass line that comes in at 1.00. I think I'd prefer a slightly more aggressive sounding snare though. That's just a personal preference.

Very cinematic. Nice piano sounds and I love the flam on the snare that you put in occasionally

Mighty Dub Katz-Just Another Groove(Seán Nash Remix)

    Hey folks,
So I know most of the people on hear wont be into this style at all but heres a track I'm working on

I'm awaiting a rhythm guitar section for this track but for now I did this version.
I had an old bootleg of this track from a few guys called Flaunt it DJ's that I played to death so I basically tried to recreate that.
Would love a few pointers on the overall sound and mixdown.I think theres a few volume issues in the breakdowns.

The 2nd buildup will probably be changed once the guitar section is done

The first few bars had me thinking 'Spiller - Groovejet' :D
You're right about the volume issues. It definitely spikes at 1.02
Lovely funky bassline. I wuld bring out the hi-hat a little bit more if it was me.
One thing that threw me was the kind of 'false drop' at 3.21. I would have brought the track back in at that point while using the kick buildup that you have a bar later for the actual drop.
One other thing, and this could just be me, but the left channel seems significantly louder than the right?
Overall nice work. I look forward to hearing it with the added guitar section as that will really increase the variety in the track.

Thanks man,I think your right on a few counts.Got the volume fixed than god.
Still awaiting the guitar riff but here it is now with a better mixdown and the resonance off the bass

first time posting in here. really into the mid-tempo breaks/ghetto funk type stuff at the moment, not sure if anyone on here is into this style much but thought i'd throw this up anyway. here's an edit of cypress hill's dr. greenthumb which i've been working on. would be good to get some feedback

Nice edit. I'd probably take some of the low end of either the kick or the bass as they sound a little bit muddy. Nicely put together though.

I think you have the bones of a nice track here. I think the bass is a tad too loud in the mix and I would bring up the hi-hat a little as well. The lead melody is cool but I think you need to add another element to bring a bit more interest. Even something like occasional stabs would be good. The vocal could be utilised more but not in its entireity like you have in the breakdowns. I don't think that works very well. I much prefer the short sample used. Maybe you could chop other bits from the main sample and arrange these throughout the track. Personally I'd also add a bit of reverb to these vocal shots and maybe mix that up a bit by using a small delay on some of them.
That's my two cents anyway. :)
