Glitchy twitchy breakbeat / bigbeat which I am quite proud of , though you can probably tell by listening to it that I was reared on The Prodigy!

Anyway lettuce know what yiz think!

I'd echo a lot of what Shane said above. The synths are not gritty or fat enough in my opinion. It all sounds a bit 'Mario' if you know what I mean. I've seen your stuff before so I realise that you've probably played all the stuff 'live' yourself which is great, but I think you need to spend more time on adding fx to your sounds.

A new track from the new Geisha album (and 3rd overall). In several sections and different keys, with some ominous sounding piano and Portishead-style beats. Let me know what you think.

Yeah, can't find anything much to pick at in this really. Nice flow to the track and the mid section reminded me of Massive Attack. Piano is cool and there is a nice analog feel to the hi hats and other percussion which works well. I'd like to hear the electric guitar stand out a tad more in the mix but other than that it's pretty sweet. It has a real soundtrack feel to it.

Thank you! Yes I have a number of new tracks along the way, I'll wait a bit before I start posting more, I guess they are "soundtracky" and I do love them analog beats. :-)

There's a ton more stuff on the Sounds Of Geisha SC page if you want to explore further.

To be honest the only 'live' thing in there was the drum fills (hence the 'acoustic' flavour alluded to above) which actually was intentional, as was the 8-bit mario flavours ha ha! The rest was programmed to high heaven.

Anyway thanks for the feedback guys. Grittier synths... heavier basslines. Duly noted :)

If it was 8 bit you were aiming for then it's excellent. Like Liam Howlett on a Casio! :)

    Hi guys,

This is a track I'm working on at the moment, summer inspired with a melodic breakbeat vibe to it. Any feedback is much appreciated :)

There's a really nice swing to the hi-hat pattern. The kick sounds a tiny bit too thin for me. Might do with a tad more low end. Nice programming on the beat though.
The overall style isn't something I'd normally listen to so I'm not a fan of the main synth or the pads (that's just in terms of the sound, not the actual melody).
The 'bottle' noise is nice though and the pads that come in at 2.40 sound sweet as well.
One other thing is that the splash is a tad too loud in the mix for me.

Cheers for the feedback man, always appreciated. I'll take a look at the kick and crash levels this evening :)

Another new one, called The Eternal Light. Tried to break it into three parts, the intro with the guitars, the middle section, then the big chords at the end. Some nice complex beats I reckon! ;-)

    Hope you enjoy.

Just listening to your track here, really enjoying it. The guitar sounds in the intro are very cool. You've also got a really nice ambient vibe in some parts. The breakdown at 2:54 could be even longer, its blissful. One thing I do notice is the overall mix sounds a bit muddy (this seems to be most noticeable around 4:55 as the track sounds overloaded). Interesting work though man, I like it! :)

Thanks, yeah it it might have been 'mastered' a bit hot alright, I could probably take it down a few DBs in that section.

Glad you like it, thanks for the comments.

Like DarkJager said, it sounds very full on at times. You've used a decay on the main kick with quite a short repeat time. Maybe if you lowered the feedback on this it would help the beats stand out a bit more. Nice tune though, the guitar part is cool and the bass in the third part is great as well.

Fairly epic song to take on for a remix :). Bass is nicely done and the singer seems decent. Timing seems a little off every now and then but I suppose that's the human element of a live band.
On the production side though it seems like everything has been turned up to 11! The waveform is very flat. I think you'd need to adjust levels in some of the instruments to bring a bit more clarity to the track.

That's nice - I would've like to hear some more variation in the drums over the first 3 minutes, but the synths are pretty cool.

I listen to all kinds of house. A few guys that i like are Avicii, Pryda, Deadmau5.
I use the sounds from reason and then tweak em to my liking.

had a listen there, nice job!

at 3.22 it gets abit weird, stuttery/ laggy or something, as if theres a delay on the voice or something overlapping it too much, or just too much stuff going on...not sure exactly what it is, but you might want to take a look at it, otherwise class

Fantastic bassline. Has the hallmaks of a really good minimal house track. I was a bit dissappointed by the main arpeggiated synth though, I feel it's a bit too thin sounding for the track. Having said that it sounds much better at 2.25.
Nice vocal samples as well. Thumbs up overall.

Nice. Love the house vibe at 2.11. A few more vocal snippets like the one you've used at the start of this section would have been cool.
Regarding the main vocal, I think it might worth time stretching it so it plays slower while still fitting in with the project tempo. It just sounds like its galloping away a bit at times. Good job though.
