Don't be embarassed, we often disagree !

I don't think theres anything major wrong with it anyway.
Probably a few tweaks could be done but if you tweak these things too much it can end up like Father Teds car in the raffle.

Jump from 9th to 8th is too small.

Jump from 12th-10th to 9th is too big.

Those jumps don't make any sense at all. It's hardly a typo in the original link?

I checked the payouts off pokernews and only used the above as a copy and paste so i doubt its a typo unless everyone is working off the same error.

    Sick start to Day 2...

"All in and a call!" yelled the dealer over at table 240 in the Brasilia room. Mark Landgraf was all in holding {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} against Alexander Yaroshetskiy's {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

With a dominating position in the hand, Landgraf improved to trip queens on the flop of {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. Yaroshetskiy did pick up a royal flush draw though.

The turn hit the {Q-Clubs}, giving Landgraf quads and leaving Yaroshetskiy drawing to only one out. The poker gods must have been looking down on Yaroshetskiy today because the {10-Hearts} landed on the river giving him the royal flush! The table erupted and one player even fell back out of his chair as he was leaning back in it.

Yaroshetskiy is now up to 240,000 and Landgraf dropped all the way to 14,300.

Sorry for starting yet another wsop thread. But id like to dedicate this one to the irish in vegas. Its good to hear how all are doing and keep us all updated. So please contribute if you are a boardsie in vegas or knowing of any irish left in the main event. I presume nicnicnic, digiman, suilen, hawkeye, marty, van dice and pistolpeter are still in, im not sure who else is playing. Can anyone confirm?

    Thanks.

Is there any live coverage ?
I could set some for the earlier events on the wsop.com website but they don't seem to be showing the main event.

Awful start for the Irish today, Myself , Tom Finneran, Paddy O connor and Parky all went in the first level.

prettty sick hand I went with, I prob/couldve folded.
I was down to bout 24k, I had my 3 bet 4 bet (by the BB) and a c bet snapped off all in first round of the table.

UTG opened to 1200, and he shows his cards when he picks em up. I see AK clearly. I peal SB with AQ, BBcalls too

    flop comes 88hQh

I check, bb checks UTG bets 1500 i call BB makes it 6k, UTG folds. I was thinking hes def at it having seen UTG hand. I peel the turn, 4 s,. and check call the chove of 18k.
Butttttttt he wasnt at it at all, he had 89.

Pretty frustrating tourny overall , was up to 50k in first level and pretty much didnt win a pot after that. ah well. next year....

Eh.... why call when you know he has AK? Does he know that you know what cards he has?

because any flop that comes with no ace or king means u can take him off the pot, ie most of them....surely thats obvious
and im sure he didnt intentionally show the blinds his cards !!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 571 ✭✭✭smoothcall

Yup Cat pretty much explained it . He didnt know I'd seen his cards, he was obv a fish who lifted his cards way to high.

So basically I'd call with any two, I was even thinking of reraising because I dont think he'd 4 bet . This mightve been the better play actually.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,279 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

I prefer the way you played it when you have the huge advantage of knowing his cards, keep the pot small till you know your ahead or its a flop you can take him off, if he 4bets you hate your life bad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,529 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

    Ship it to Ireland
A late position player raised to 2,000, the cutoff reraised to 4,200, Andy Black flat-called on the button and the initial raiser folded. The flop came down 10h.gif7s.gif3s.gif. The cutoff led out for 8,625, Black moved all in and the cutoff called. Black's pocket jacks led his opponent's Ah.gif10s.gif. The turn was the 4h.gif and Black even spiked a set on the river with the Jh.gif for good measure and took down the pot, taking his stack up to 164,000.
