    Hello,

Im climbing Galtymore tomorrow with friends. I have never been to or climbed this before so I dont even know where to park or anything.

Which way should I go? I am looking for the easier of the climbs please.

I have climbed carrauntohill a few times and always use devils ladder so I can handle difficult enough terrain. I am now quite unfit following a very indulgent holiday.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi there,

Take a look at this http://www.iol.ie/~imra/route_galtymore.html. I've walked up Galtymore a couple of times now and really enjoyed this route.
You could just back track the highlighted route or make your way down however you please. Leave yourself plenty of time! And carry the usual,
i.e; fully charged mobile, map+compass, first aid kit and whistle.

    Hope this helps.. Enjoy.

Is that not the hard route, i.e the Northern approach?

Walked / ran the Galtees today in an imra race. Tough going with weather conditions quite challenging. Cush, then Galtybeg, then Galtymore and back. Conditions underfoot very wet and boggy. Quite cut up in parts between the beg and more. Low cloud so didn't get a view from the top. View from Cush was great though.

We were supposed to go up Carrauntohill yesterday but the weather put us off. We will go this coming Saturday instead.

Here is a picture off the top of Galtymore.

I think our race started at the forest at the right of your photo...
