Will use this thread for results of the count as I or someone else gets them. Count starts at 9am for town council and county council. European count on Sunday.

The Tramore count has just got underway.

Stan Nangle

Joe C, Lola, AMP and Paddy O'C over the line on the first count.

Joe C had a quota and a half.

I'm up 23% on 2004, but it probably won't be enough.

Any news on Dungarvan town council elections. WLR have just given first count only, that was about 5 hours ago, can't find news anywhere else.

Been looking at that but it only gives the County Council results from Dungarvan but not the town results.

Just heard on WLR that there are only three or four votes between Benji Whelan and John O'Leary for that last Comeragh seat.

All existing fine gael candidates are re elected in county but pat barron looks likely to loose his seat to sinn fein. Also, pat daly only ff candidate to get through.

Hard luck Stan, I thought you would be a dead cert for both Town & County Councils.

I have to say it's extremely disappointing to see Stan lose out, especially seeing some who got voted in ahead of him, no disrespect to them but: 2 x former FF (Blaise & Finnerty) and 1 x FF (Joe O'Shea), a school kid (Raine), and Maxine who I never heard of before these elections. All but Blaise have no proven record of doing anything for the town, and as far as I know none of them even canvassed in my neighbourhood (I didn't get any of their flyers in the letterbox or a knock on the door).

Happy to see Joe, Ann Marie and Lola get voted in though.

Joe O'Shea is a well known businessman in Tramore, I think he was obviously going to get in ahead of Gina. I had an idea that FF would get a seat in Tramore. As for the two ex-FF, I guess we will have to wait and see if they will stick to what they promissed. Blaise has a good record and Pat is new but I hear good things.

I believe Maxine is known and was tipped to get a seat, Raine is young but I dont mind to much to see young fresh blood with the guidance of his FG colleagues. Fresh thinking and all.
