    :confused:i have a BIG problem,,:eek::(
    my dad accidently cleared EVERYTHING off our family pc and now there is nothing on it... my problem is now that i have music on my ipod but no itune library for it. to update my ipod i have to start a new itune library to sync with my ipod but this will clear what i already have on my ipod. as most of my music was downloaded its not as simple as just starting a new library again. i was wondering is there anyway to copy the music on my ipod to a new itune library????? thanks guys :):)

    You can dowload programmes to get the music off your ipod on to a pc and I'm pretty sure it stops the ipod syncing and wiping your ipod clean. I think the one I used was called videora (who do video converters too), although it was a while ago and I can't remember exactly. It is possible to get the music off it - perhaps someone who has used a programme recently can help you. Or try google some programmes (I'm presuming here these programmes are legal). You can also chage the settings so it won't automatically sync when you plug in the iPod, that might be a good idea to do.

    I have all my music backed up on an external hard drive - I suggest it you get your music back you do this. There's nothing scarier than thinking you've lost all your data! My external hard drive brok recently but I managed to fix it. I now have my music backed up on an external hard drive and the data on that external hard drive backed up on another one!

    You have to trust people at some point. Baza210's second link, to SharePod, will sort out your problems.

    It's a nightmare the way apple work it, :mad:they make it difficult but it can be done

    Make sure you change your settings in itunes to not sync to ipod automatically before plugging it in then there are a few more steps to follow

    you may find this youtube vid useful
