Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, all of a sudden, I can't open up any external drives on my Vaio laptop (Windows Vista). This includes memory sticks, iPod etc. I have trawled the internet for help but there is nothing.
This is what comes up when i plug a memory stick in-

Create another administrator account and login with that account. If it works in the new account then the permissions for the main admin account have to be changed.

Thanks for replying jonny. I just tried that there and it still doesn't work. Does anyone else have any ideas? It's driving me mad!

I would reformat and start from scratch mate. It would be easier in the long run. You could have even gotten a virus to cause that.

    Hi Kaji,

I had the same kinda thing happen to me on my old sony vaio.. I dont know if there is a way to fix it. But I just wiped my computer. Just make sure you have made a set of recovery discs first.

    Galwaylad :)

Could it be NTFS file permissions gone mad?

Might be worth trying on another computer.

check if there is an owner option, an administrator can't change permissions on some folders until they first take ownership of them
