Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wexford is nice, if a bit busy. But there is plenty to do and see for a day or two day trip down.

If you're in the West, the Cliffs of Moher would be another given. And Connemara, for that matter... :)

The old church on the hill of Slane is really nice and can be visited for free

There is interesting stuff all over the place really.

What sort of things do they particularly like?

I have found many of the OPW Heritage sites to be really well run & great value, if you are going to a few of them then get the Hertiage Card. There is a good variety of sites & their photography policies are sensible. If you go to Newgrange then you have almost covered half the cost of the card straight away. In Dublin there is Kilmainham Gaol, Casino Marino & Dublin Castle tours.

Ballina/Killaloe - you've got the river, the lake, the hills, a few nice pubs and restaurants. It's like the riviera if the weather is anyway decent and pretty mystical when it isn't.

Glen of Aherlow outside Tipperary Town - beautiful.

    A few places on my to do list around Dublin Wicklow and Meath - this list compiled from previous postings so if its deja vue for some people please forgive me;

    Dublin
    • Dun Laoghaire - (Incl Peoples Park)
    • Botanic Gardens
    • The deer in the Pheonix park
    • Howth (Howth is absolutely fantastic if the sun is shining. Go up to the Hurdy Gurdy museum on Abbey Street and walk to the railings - you have the whole of Howth below you.)
    • Balbriggan
    • UCD
    • Trinity
    • Sandymount - Off the beaten track in Sandymount, and up towards Poolbeg, is always a great spot / Sandymount seafront area is nice too. Also, it is possible to take a walk to the Lighthouse there.
    • Grand Canal Place
    • Anywhere west of Ranelagh Bridge makes good photos
    • Dalkey/Killiney are always worth a look. Dalkey town is nice, and then a nice walk up Killiney hill, to have a nice view out over the bay.
    • Dun Laoghaire and Sandycove are beautiful too, all the way along the coast - the pier in Dun Laoghaire, the 40ft for the people swimming, etc
    • Car park of the digital hub on thomas street. loads of old industrial stuff, and some weird contraptions (permission for going in?)
    • Clontarf - Bull Wall is great.
    • Connolly Station is fab also.
    • Docklands Including the IFSC at night (some nicely lit buildings)
    • City Hall - must lie on back in centre of room(!)

    Wicklow:
    • Mount Usher Gardens (Ashford) is worth a look (payment to enter)
    • Powersourt gardens up from Eniskerry village
    • Sally Gap
    • Brittas Bay (sandy beach)
    • Glendalough

    Meath:
    • Trim Castle and stroll by the Boyne
    • Bru na Boinne visitor centre
    • Lough Crew
    • Slane
    • Toll / Suspension Bridge on M1 (nicely lit at night if night photography is their thing)
    • Bective Abbey (between Trim and Navan)
    • A trip through the Boyne valley

*Disclaimer - I haven't been to all these places but either they have been mentioned here or I am familiar with them.
